जल संग्रह की परंपरा  & वर्षा जल की साझेदारी  पानी के बारे में कहीं भी कुछ भी लिखा जाता है तो उसका प्रारम्भ प्राय: उसे जीवन का आधार बताने से होता है। -जल अमृत है, जल पवित्र है, समस्त जीवों का, वनस्पतियों का जीवन, विकास - सब कुछ जल पर टिका है। - ऐसे वाक्य केवल भावुकता के कारण नहीं लिखे जाते। यह एक वैज्ञानिक सच्चाई है कि पानी पर ही हमारे जीवन का, सारे जीवों का आधार टिका है। यह आधार प्रकृति ने सर्व सुलभ, यानी सबको मिल सके, सबको आसानी से मिल सके- कुछ इस ढंग से ही बनाया है। पानी हमें बार-बार मिलता है, जगह-जगह मिलता है और तरह-तरह से मिलता है। हम सबका जीवन ही जिस पर टिका है, उसका कोई मोल नहीं, वह सचमुच अनमोल है, अमूल्य है, बहुमूल्य है।     प्रकृति ने इसे जीवनदायी बनाने के लिए अपने ही कुछ कड़े कठोर और अमिट माने गए नियम तोड़े हैं। उदाहरण के लिए प्रकृति में जो भी तरल पदार्थ जब ठोस रूप में बदलता है, तो वह अपने तरल रूप से अधिक भारी हो जाता है और तब वह अपने ही तरल रूप में नीचे डूब जाता है। पर पानी के लिए प्रकृति ने अपने इस प्राकृतिक नियम को खुद ही बदल दिया है और इसी में छिपा है इसका ज
